Episode 14 - Danish Anwar

Danish Anwar is an award winning comedian and trendsetting producer known for selling out shows worldwide, from iconic venues like The Comedy Store in LA and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa to the ultra cool Tokyo Comedy Bar in Japan where he has become a recurring favourite. He has worked with comedy titans like Dave Attell, Russell Peters and Paul Provenza, performed at prestigious festivals like Just For Laughs, Zoofest & Magners International Comedy Festival in Bangkok, and created the global comedy sensation Your Hood’s A Joke, playing in LA, NYC, Tokyo and Toronto, expanding to Barcelona and Amsterdam in 2023. He’s also the founder of Toronto Comedy All Stars, one of Canada’s premiere comedy labels.

Episode 13 - Joseph Zamaria

Joseph Zamaria, PsyD, ABPP, is a licensed and board-certified clinical psychologist and an associate clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the UCSF School of Medicine. At UCSF, he serves as a clinician and researcher in clinical trials examining the potential of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy to treat a range of conditions, and teaches to medical and pharmacy students about the use of psychedelic-assisted therapy for racial trauma. Outside of his activities at UCSF, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology and serves on the advisory board of the Fireside Project. Finally, he is on the faculty of the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics, serving as the Lead Instructor for Psychotherapy and Clinical Science.

Episode 12 - Joel Brierre

Joel Brierre is the Founder and CEO of the psychedelic wellness companies Kaivalya Kollectiv and Tandava Retreats, as well as co-founder of the 5-MeO-DMT education and training platform F.I.V.E.. Joel has been a leader in the modern psychedelic movement, specifically in the realm of 5-MeO-DMT and has spent years helping to create safe and effective protocols around this molecule. With a passion for preparation and integration, Joel and his team are involved in everything from clinical research and trainings to experiential retreats in Mexico and Jamaica.

Maya Bastian is an award-winning Tamil-Canadian filmmaker and artist with roots in conflict journalism. Her work has been supported by Netflix, The Canadian Film Center, HBO, UN IOM, The Globe and Mail and the CBC. She has exhibited internationally including at Edinburgh Fringe, Colombo Art Biennale and Cannes Court Metrage. Her work frequently explores the trauma related to displacement and migration.

Maria was named top 15 Global Psychedelics Executives by Business Insider and she is a Board Member of Benzinga Psychedelics Advisory Council. In May 2022, she co-founded the first-ever Medical Psychedelics House of Davos at the World Economic Forum. Maria’s expertise bridges the silos in drug development and spans across R&D, clinical trial design as well as M&A.

Charlie Smith is a producer, writer, director, editor, and founder of Feenom Films;  a full-range media company on a mission to create content inspired by exploring consciousness. His documentary, "The Art of Healing"  (featuring New York Times bestselling author, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk) premiered to a sold-out audience at Psychedelic Science 2023.  As an unscripted Development Executive, Charlie created true crime series, Cold Valley (Investigation Discovery, 2017), the weather disaster format, Rogue Earth (Discovery Channel, 2016), the true crime podcast, Taken Abroad (iHeartRadio, 2021), and co-developed popular science formats: Invent This (Discovery Science, 2021) and The Mightiest (Discovery+, 2021).
